Imeem is Worse than Crack

I've installed an imeem widget for your listening convenience. I will continue to post YouSendIt links to mp3 downloads on occasion, but will reserve new releases for the imeem playlists since I cannot in good conscience rob the musicians that I admire of their fruits of labor.

Have you listened to the new Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' Midnight Man EP yet? It includes early versions of "Dig, Lazarus, Dig" and "More News From Nowhere" that sound like distant cousins twice removed to the "finished" songs on the record. Check out the EP-only third track, "Hey Little Firing Squad" on the imeem player (unfortunately, only a 30-second clip). The EP is available on iTunes.

Here's an unlikely combination: Tom Waits and Kool Keith did guest vocals on a N.A.S.A. track rife with James Brown references for their debut album, The Spirit of Apollo. Anything Tom Waits does is gold in my opinion.

Brian Eno and David Byrne's "Strange Overtones" off of their new album, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today is also pretty sweet. You know where to find it.
