In San Francisco, I used to complain about there not being enough great bands to see. Now, I find myself complaining about not having enough money to see all the bands that come through New York. This summer's All Points West Festival at Liberty Park in New Jersey has introduced a layaway plan for the frugally minded. Either this is encouraging news or a sad state of affairs. In any case, I, for one think that every venue in New York should implement a similar plan or at least reduce ticket prices. There's no denying it. Recession prices and layaway plans are back and it feels like Christmas Eve in 1991 all over again.
