Henry Rollins/Charlie Kaufman on The Hour

Musician (Black Flag, Rollins Band), author, activist, USO performer, publisher, public speaker, t.v. host, deejay, actor, and one of my personal heroes, Henry Rollins, appeared on the Canadian program, The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos on Monday. Watch the video here.

Charlie Kaufman gave a brief interview on the program as well. Check it out here.

I thought his responses on the Charlie Rose program were more insightful. That's here.

Synecdoche, NY

Synecdoche, NY, a film which admirers of Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) have been anxiously awaiting, finally opens at the Embarcadero Center Cinemas on Nov. 7. Read the NY Times review by film critic, Manohla Dargis here and if you haven't seen the trailer yet, watch it below.

Philip Seymour Hoffman is also featured in another film coming out in November called Doubt centered on the power dynamics within a parochial school that lead to Hoffman's character being accused of inappropriate relations with an African-American student. Trailer below.
