Free Events June 10-12 at Lincoln Center

The Film Society of Lincoln Center has put together a schedule of interesting and FREE events ranging from screenings to lectures and movie marathons running June 10 through 12 to inauguarate the opening of their Elinor Bunin Monroe Film Center.  Among them are a screening of Martha Coolidge's "Valley Girl" presented by filmmaker (and now, self-distributor) Kevin Smith, a screening of Mike Nichols' "Carnal Knowledge" with a Q&A between director Jason Reitman and Nichols, a film class on Bernardo Betrolucci's "The Conformist" taught by multi-hyphenate Paul Schrader, a screening of a restored print of Michael Curtiz's "British Agent," and a movie marathon of six of the New York Film Festivals opening night films.

Mind you, free in NYC usually means free......IF YOU CAN GET IN.  Tickets to the "Valley Girl" screening with Kevin Smith vanished double-quick and the first batch of tickets for the other events have also gone.  However, Filmlinc will release a limited quantity of tickets on Monday, June 6 at 12:30 pm EST.  Once those are snapped up, standby tickets will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis one hour before the scheduled event.  Good luck.
