Best Day Ever?

Finished David Sedaris' book, When You Are Engulfed In Flames (which I recommend reading on public transportation if you want people to think you are high because you are giggling to yourself uncontrollably), savagely devoured half of an Italian Special from Faicco's on the boardwalk at Coney Island under a canopy of blue sky and golden sunshine (the Italian Special is a sandwich, but calling it merely a sandwich would be doing it a real injustice), gaped at the False Pilchards, Hawkbull Turtles, waddling penguins, lazy North Fur Otters and other sedate marine organisms at the New York Aquarium, rode The Cyclone, watched the Coney Island circus sideshow revue and polished off the other half of the Italian Special for dinner. Coney Island, you just got your groove back.

On May 29, 2010, Luna Park will open as an amusement park at Coney Island, featuring 19 rides and "interactive games." It will actually be re-opening since, according to Wikipedia, the original Luna Park existed from 1903-1944. This follows the closing of Astroland two years ago, which a great many people were sad about. It remains to be seen whether they will re-open Astroland if Luna Park fails.
