From MSN.com:
"Are left-handed people smarter?
Yep. According to researcher Alan Searleman, southpaws have higher IQs, solve problems better and enjoy more extensive vocabularies than righties. Lefty cases in point: Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso, for starters. Not to mention every U.S. president since 1981, except this one.
Take heart, righties: Searleman's study also found that lefties have worse memories than their right-handed peers.
Bonus question: Which hand does Barack Obama favor?"
Answer: the left.
I've always been curious about left-handedness. I read somewhere on the internet that left-handedness was due to an acute form of brain damage that babies experienced in the womb. But you can't believe everything you read on the web. I'm ambidextrous, but when I was a kid, I was entirely left-handed and there are still some things that I can only do properly with my left hand (e.g. throw a ball, dribble, play the drums). Do I think I'm smarter than right-handed people? Hell, no. But it's good to know that scientific research says I could be.
