"Former agents acknowledged that it was embarrassing for the agency that the reporter was able to throw two shoes at Bush. But they noted that ultimately there was no real threat.
"Would the service view this as embarrassing? Yes. Will they take steps in the future? Probably. But these kind of things do happen," [former Secret Service agent, Ronald] Williams said."
What's embarrassing isn't that the Secret Service let the second shoe fly before pouncing on the reporter, but that a U.S. president has elicited and deserved this kind of response from people around the world.
